New Totems in Etsy Shop

Just a quick note to let you know I have added more totems to our Etsy shop this morning.  They have been selling very well the last few weeks and I finally have more available.  So please, take a look, before they are all gone. :)

Website Re-Design

A few weeks ago our re-designed website at www.GardensAndCrafts.com went live.  If you haven't had a chance to check it out, please do.  I changed very few of the webpage addresses, so if you bookmarked something in the past, it should still be there.

The new navigation bar should make it easier to find what you want more quickly, although the search box is still available on the home page as well. The photos have been better optimized so that pages load much more quickly for you, even if you are on dial-up. We also have a new contact form on the About Us page that is easier to use and is functioning properly...LOL.  I'd love to hear your feedback on the site.

Now that the re-design is finished, I have begun posting new plans and articles.  Our latest plans were recently featured in Birds and Blooms magazine.  An oriole / hummingbird feeder that you can make from a shot glass and copper wire and a suet feeder made from one board and some hardware cloth.  You can keep these projects as simple or get as fancy as you like, and they won't break the bank.  If you are already a crafty person, you probably have all the materials needed and won't have to buy a thing.

I will be working on some more Pest Busters articles as well as some general gardening articles.  If there is a topic you would like to know more about, please let me know and I will write an article about it as soon as I can.

Holy Hotness, Batman!

I don't know what it's been like in your part of the country, but in the north east it has been HOT HOT HOT!  We have had temperatures in the upper 90s all week.  And the humidity is oppressive to say the least.

You may have noticed that I have not been writing in our blog as much as I usually do.  Things have been hectic with school and I was trying decide if I wanted to change blog formats or not, but for now, I am going to stay right here with blogger.  You can always link to it from our main website, www.gardensandcrafts.com.

Not much has been happening lately around here with the heat, but we have finished the vegetable garden next to the greenhouse.  It's all fenced in and the vegetables seem to be loving the heat, for the most part.

These pictures were taken about a week ago and everything has gotten at least twice as big since then. Especially the zucchini plants. Thank goodness I only planted two.  I decided to grow my tomatoes this year in topsy turvy planters to save space in the garden.  They are working out pretty well, except they must be watered twice a day with this heat and at least once a day in normal temperatures.

I thought I had pictures on this computer of the whole fenced in area, but I guess I don't.  I've painted most of the trim on the greenhouse and just need to scrape off some paint that got on the windows.  I've also started decorating the outside a little bit, but with this heat, I probably won't do any more of that until this weekend, so I will take more pictures then and post by Monday.
