Today I received a wonderful surprise in the mail. It was a big tote of new craft supplies brought to us by Elmer's, X-Acto and Walmart. The challenge is to make a craft utilizing some of these products and post it on my blog by October 8, 2010. In return, Elmer's will pick a Blogger who has the best project and then donate $1000 to a charity of their choice. I think that ROCKS!!! Elmer's has also generously allowed me to award three of my readers an Elmer's Prize Pack.
So, look for a new project from me the first week in October and I will pick three winners from the comments that I receive on that post, and that post only.
I've decided to spruce up a recipe box. Since I like to mosaic, I've decided to mosaic with paper to bring new life to this box. It will be much lighter in weight as opposed to using glass, tile and grout. And much less messy. A great project to do with the kids, in fact.
Included in my supplies was a 9" paper trimmer, self healing cutting mat, circle cutter, craft swivel knife, and extra strength glue sticks (among other things), all of which I think I will be able to use on this project. There were also lots of other goodies as well. I urge you to visit your local Walmart and check out the new craft aisle with this new line of craft projects from Elmer's and X-Acto.
So make sure you check back with this blog in a couple of weeks and see how this project turns out and to enter for a chance to win your own Elmer's Prize Pack.
Newsletter Launch from D&G Gardens and Crafts
You may have noticed that the blog has not been updated as often as it used to be. I will not be abandoning the blog completely, but it may only be updated a couple of times a month rather than a couple of times a week.
Instead, I have decided to focus most of my attention on a Newsletter that will be released 6-8 times a year. The Newsletter will be packed full of new garden related articles, craft projects, random tid bits for the home and garden and new recipes to use the fresh fruits and produce you may be growing in your garden.
To sign up for the new D&G Gardens and Crafts Newsletter, go to our website or follow this link. The first installment is scheduled to be released the first week of October 2010.
If there are any topics you'd like to see covered, by all means, e-mail me and I will do my best to get them in an upcoming newsletter.
